A workshop themed “Vietnam- Timeless Charm” was held on Mar. 17 in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia , to present Vietnam ’s tourism potential as well as promote its attractive destinations.
Co-organised by Travel Seasons company, Vietnam Airlines office in Malaysia and the Malaysia Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), the workshop drew the participation of representatives from travel agencies, overseas Vietnamese and local people.
The event featured Vietnam’s well-known destinations, including Hanoi ancient quarte, Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province, Bich Dong cave in Ninh Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Da Lat.
Apart from presenting interesting sites, unique culture and cuisine, the workshop introduced specific tours to draw Malaysian tourists.
Speaking at the workshop, Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Nguyen Hong Thao said the event offered a good opportunity to enhance relations, cultural exchange as well as understandings about history and custom between the two countries.
Former MATTA President Ngiam Foon suggested that Malaysian tourist agencies step up research on the Vietnamese market.
According to statistics, in 2011 Vietnam welcomed over 233,100 tourists from Malaysia , a year-on-year increase of 3.88 percent.
