The Vietnam-China tourism and trade fair 2011 opened on December 16 in the border city of Mong Cai, Quang Ninh province.
The fair, titled “Integration and Development” features around 300 booths, with many of the two countries’ typical products and services on display. There are also booths from Indonesia and the Republic of Korea.
The main activities within the framework of the fair include an international conference, contract and cooperative agreements among businesses, Vietnam travel agencies and China travel firms as well as sports and cultural exchange programmes between Vietnam and China.
Director of the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Manh Ha said the fair is a great opportunity for the two countries’ businesses to exchange goods, promote import and export activities and investment as well as tourism and trade cooperation, contributing to strengthening trade relations between the two countries and the two adjacent provinces in particular.
The fair has been held in rotation between Vietnam’s province of Quang Ninh and China’s Guangxi province for many years.
