On March 21, 2013 in Ha Noi, the launching ceremony of the Photo contest and National Photo Exhibition was organized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions in collaboration with Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
Attending the event were Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions; representatives of the provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Red River Delta and the professional, amateur photographers nationwide. At the ceremony, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Head of organizing board said the Photo contest and National Photo Exhibition on “Exploring the Red River civilization” aims to introduce to people within the country and abroad the life, culture, people, landscape of the provinces in the Red River Delta, promoting regional tourism in particular and Viet Nam in general.2013 is an important year for provinces in the Red River Delta region, especially Hai Phong City. The Photo contest and National Photo Exhibition will be significant activities to support National Tourism Year of the Red River Delta – Hai Phong 2013. This event will contribute to boosting the promotion of image of Viet Nam to international tourists.
The prizes include: One first prize: a Certificate with 15 million VND; two second prizes: a Certificate with 10 million VND; three third prizes: a Certificate with 07 million VND; five consolation prizes: a Certificate with 05 million VND.Entries should be submitted directly from 24 - 28 June, 2013 in office hours. Deadline for entries sent via mail is 28 June, 2013.

The Exhibition is expected to be on display in Hai Phong in August, 2013.
