After only 11 days, from 2.01 million messages voting for Ha Long Bay (according to statistics on October 20), the figure rose to 5 million messages by 11 am on October 31.
The figure has been updated by the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism.
It also showed positive results from efforts of the ministry to canvass ministries, branches, Vietnam travel agencies and individuals to respond to the campaign for Ha Long Bay to become one of the world’s new seven wonders.
The Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador Ly Nha Ky has just returned from a tour abroad to mobilise votes for Ha Long Bay. Every where she goes, international friends enthusiastically support Ha Long Bay as one of the world’s new seven wonders, she told.
