Responding to the Promotion program of tourism in 2013 released by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; celebrating the 10th anniversary of Nha nhac-Vietnamese Court Music recognized as the Representative of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and the 20th anniversary of the Complex of Hue Monuments – the World Cultural Heritage, Hue Monuments Conservation Centre (HMCC) will cooperate with the Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association to organize many programs of tourism promotion via the Golden Weeks of Tourism as follows:
1. Time
- Week 1: From April 21, 2013 to April 27, 2013;
- Week 2: From September 02, 2013 to September 08, 2013;
- Week 3: From December 24, 2013 to December 30, 2013;
2. Activities:
* Week 1 (21/4/2013 - 27/4/2013) & Week 2 (02/9/2013 - 08/9/2013): No admission charge, service concessions (electric bus, court music performance) at Hue heritage. In Week 1 and Week 2, visitors can be offered special concessions as follows:
- Paying admission for visiting Hue Imperial City and Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities, visitors will be free of charge for electric bus from Hue Imperial City to Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities and offered half admission for court music performance (at Duyet Thi Duong Theatre).
- Paying admission to visit 3 sites (Hue Imperial City – Hue Museum of Royal Antiquities, Khai Dinh tomb and Minh Mang tomb), visitors will be free of charge to visit more sites including Tu Duc tomb, Thieu Tri tomb, Hon Chen (Hue Nam) Shrine.
- A group of 15 persons up will be free of charge for tour guide service; - Free of charge for domestic students visiting Hue monuments with official introduction letter from their schools/universities and approval of HMCC leaders;
- 15% reduction of electric bus service within the area of Hue Imperial City
- 10% reduction of other services within Hue heritage, including lion dance performance (at Tinh Tam lake), drink and souvenir gifts (at Hue Imperial City, Tu Phuong Vo Su pavilion, Binh An house).
- Taking part in royal games at Tho Ninh hall (Dien Tho Residence in Hue Imperial City)
- Enjoying Hue chamber music at Truong Sanh Residence
- Enjoying court music (Great music) at The Mieu-Hue Imperial City (daily performance)
- Enjoying court music (Small music) at Thai Hoa Palace – Hue Imperial City (daily performance)
The Change of Guard ceremony will be daily held between 9:00 am-9:30 am in front of Ngo Mon Gate.
The court music will be performed 4 times/day at Duyet Thi Theatre
* Week 3 (From 24/12/2013 to 30/12/2013): Program of reduction (entrance ticket, electric bus service, court music performance), celebration of the two millionth visitor of Hue heritage and more activities at Hue heritage. Apart from the concessions applied in Week 1 and Week 2, HMCC will also cooperate with the Hotel Association, Tourism Association and travel agencies to prepare more valuable premiums in the 3rd Golden Week, as follows:
- Special premium for the two millionth visitor of Hue heritage, premium for the 1.900.000th and the 2.000.100th visitors; souvenir gift for the visitor group of the two millionth visitor.
- Premiums for 3 Travel agencies with their most visitor’s number coming to Hue monuments in 2013;
- Free admission for visitors and local people enjoying the Royal Palace by Night organized at the end of the Golden Week. In this event, 20% reduction of Royal Banquet ticket will be offered to visitors and a Closing ceremony of the Golden Week will be held to proclaim the results and offer premiums to the two millionth visitor and three top Travel agencies.
3. Some priorities for Travel companies joining the Promotion Program of Tourism in 2013
After the Golden Week 1, HMCC will consider to prioritize the top 10 Travel companies with their most number of tourists visiting Hue monuments in 2013. The detailed policy will be informed to travel companies and agencies nationwide.In order to improve the service quality at Hue heritage, HMCC will highly appreciate any comment and opinion from visitors and tourist companies.
