Vietnam travel agencies will devise a master plan for ten major national tourist areas between 2013 - 2015 to boost tourism development, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
The ten selected areas include: Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark in the northern province of Ha Giang; Lang Co - Canh Duong sea tourism area in the central coastal province of Thua Thien - Hue; Hai Van - Son Tra eco-tourism in Da Nang and Thua Thien – Hue province; and Da Krong eco-tourism area in the central province of Quang Tri, as well as Thac Ba Lake in the northern province of Yen Bai and Yok Don in Dak Lak in the Central Highlands. The mangrove forests in the southernmost province of Ca Mau; Xuan Dai Bay in the central province of Phu Yen; Pa Khoang Lake in Dien Bien northwestern province; and the Con Son historical and cultural tourism site in the northern province of Hai Duong are also on the list.
The country plans to have 39 national tourist areas by 2030. The master plan for key national tourism areas aims to draw investment for them and promote national tourism products and services.
