Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan has agreed with a proposal of setting off fireworks in Viet Tri city to mark the Hung Kings Festival on April 13 submitted by the People’s Committee of Phu Tho province. The festival will be held in Phu Tho province from April 13-19 to commemorate the death anniversary of Hung Kings – the founders of the Vietnamese nation.The event will feature offerings from eight provinces representing the country’s three regions, namely Lang Son, Ha Nam and Thanh Hoa (the North), Ha Tinh, Dak Lak, and Binh Dinh (Central region), and Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau (the South).The highlight of the celebrations will be a ceremony to receive UNESCO recognition of the Hung Kings worshipping ritual as a world intangible cultural heritage.Other celebrations include a street festival, processions, a banh chung (square rice cake) making contest, cultural camps, a Hat Xoan (Xoan singing) festival, a photography exhibition and a variety of sport games.
