A program named ‘Hoi An Day’ for the first time will be held on February 10 and 11 in Dong Ho, Ky Hoa 1 at 16A Le Hong Phong Street in HCMC’s District 10.
The program is to promote the culture, cuisines and arts of the ancient town to local residents.
The event features miniatures of past Hoi An’s architectural space such as a triple gate, pagodas and temples besides exhibitions on photos, items and documentations on past and present Hoi An.
There will be presentations on traditional handicraft villages like ceramics polishing and lantern making and Hoi An’s culinary characteristics such as dumpling and cao lau (a soup made with noodles, pork and greens).
On nights will be folk games including bai choi (the central Vietnam’s opera), clay pot breaking, chess and calligraphy along with a music performance show featuring local singers Anh Tuyet, Tan Dao and Thuy Long among others.
Admission is free.
