Hanoi to promote tourism in foreign newspapers

In order to attract 15.5 million visitors (with 2.25 million foreign visitors) in 2013, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will promote Hanoi tourism in some TV channels in Russia and in the online magazine Travel Mart in Asia, said Mr Mai Tien Dung, Deputy director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In addition, the department plans to promote Hanoi tourism in some countries such as: Korea, Canada, China…. According to Mr Mai Tien Dung, it is the first time the number of international tourists coming to Hanoi reached 2.1 million people per year in 2012. Hanoi is among the Top 10 most favorite tourist destinations in Asia voted by readers and journalists. Based on the result of the website Trivago compiled from more than 140 websites, Hanoi was ranked the second in the list of 100 cities with the best quality of hotel services in the world in 2012.
