A trade and tourism fair - exhibition opened at the Tra Vinh provincial culture centre on November 4 to celebrate the traditional Khmer Ok Om Bok (Moon Worshipping) festival.
On display at more than 300 booths at the fair are a wide range of products from enterprises in the province and craft villages in the Mekong River Delta, including garments and textiles, leather goods and shoes, industrial machinery, processed agricultural products and specialties, as well as interior decoration, home appliances and traditional handicrafts.
The fair also features the traditional cultures and cuisine of the region’s ethnic groups, a seminar on vocational guidance and job recruitment as well as an exhibition on the economic achievements of Tra Vinh and neighbouring provinces.
The organising board presented scholarships to disadvantaged people in the locality, especially those belonging to the Khmer ethnic minority.
The event, held jointly by the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Association of Craft Villages , the Viet Trade Villages Joint Stock Company and Vietnam travel agencies , will run through November 10.
