The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related agencies will support the central provinces in their efforts to develop tourism in the region.
The statement was made yesterday by Politburo Member and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoang Tuan Anh, at a seminar in Hanoi on “Developing Tourism in the Central Coastal Provinces”.
Representatives from more than 50 Vietnam travel companies across the country delivered 11 speeches and made various suggestions for developing infrastructure and human resources, as well as co-operation among businesses to promote tourism in the region.
The participants at the seminar discussed a number of relevant topics including developing the central region’s distinctive characteristics and tourism resources into a brand; deciding which of the region’s main tourism products to invest in to avoid overlapping and lack of focus; and promoting Vietnam tourism effectively.
They also discussed building a common co-operative mechanism to prevent unfair competition; defining policies and proposals to attract infra-structure investment in the region; developing tourism products; promoting the area’s image and training human resources.
