As part of the Da Nang - Summer Rendezvous 2013 programme, many exciting activities will be held on Bach Dang Street and on local beaches along Hoang Sa Street from 22 June to 3 July. The event is expected to draw a great deal of attention from both locals and visitors.
This year’s programme will continue to strengthen the links between Da Nang, Hue and Quang Nam Province in offering tours. The annual event will also provide an opportunity for the city’s travel agencies to showcase local beach tourism products as well as make Da Nang a city of events and a tourism hub in the central region.
According to the plans for this programme, the focus will be on organising musical performances, competitions and sea sports shows which are similar to those of last year’s event.
Mr Guillaume van Grinsven, a senior expert from the Netherlands’ PUM organisation, stressed the need for the city to advertise the programme to foreign tourism markets in order to showcase the image of Da Nang to international friends. He added that the city boasts its maritime tourism potentials with My Khe Beach being voted one of the world’s six most attractive beaches by American business magazine Forbes in 2005. The city, however, is facing a shortage of maritime tourism products.
Da Nang should fully tap its great potentials to ensure the sustainable development of its tourism sector, as well as promote its tourism brand name on the international markets. In addition, it should attach importance to improving the quality of the Summer Rendezvous programme in order to make it another of the international festivals like the Da Nang International Fireworks Competitions and the Da Nang International Paramotor Race.
