On March 14, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Plan No. 801/KH- BVHTTDL about organization of International Travel Expo, Ho Chi Minh City 2013 (ITE- HCMC 2013) from 12 to 14 September, 2013.ITE- HCMC is the most established travel event in Viet Nam and the Mekong. The objectives of event are: to promote tourism of four countries (Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar) as one destination; promote Viet Nam’s destinations to key source markets; attract tourists to new destinations in Mekong region, heading toward “Five countries – one destination” (including Thailand).The event would be a good chance for domestic tourism companies, especially small and medium sized ones, to exchange business opportunities with international partners. Attending the event, domestic tourists would receive special discounts for foreign tours. ITE-HCMC 2013 programme includes: international travel expo, networking luncheons and dinners; tourism city mayors conference; seminars on “Orientation of Indian source market”; “Improving the capacity of Viet Nam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar in implementing ASEAN mutual recognition arrangement on tourism professionals”; hosted regional and international buyers/media programme; tourism alliance awards; destination product presentations; thematic pavilions. Participants of ITE- HCMC 2013 are national tourism promotion agencies of Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, China; tourism associations, tour operators, travel agencies, hotels; culture, sports and tourism departments of provinces and cities in Viet Nam, etc.
