Opening the 3rd Viet Nam - international choir competition

On June 19th, at An Hoi Statue Garden (Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province), the opening ceremony of 3rd Viet Nam - international choir competition was organized by Quang Nam Province’s People Committee in collaboration with Interkultur (Germany). It is one of the three main activities of 5th Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2013.
The competition attracted the attendance of more than 500 artists of 15 choirs from Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Germany, United States of America, and Viet Nam. Viet Nam has three choirs including Quang Nam Center for Culture, Hoi An Holy Spirit Choir and Hoi An Children Choir Club.
From 20th to 21st June, at Hoi An Beach Resort, the choirs competed in categories as male choir, female choir, mixed choir, sacred choir music, folklore, children’s choir, youth choir. The awards ceremony was organized on 21st June.
In addition, many others activities were organized including street choir performance “International Melody”, Hoi An Legendary Night, Carnival “Quang Nam Heritages Colour”…
The event is a good opportunity for the international and Vietnamese choirs to exchange experience, thereby enhancing mutual culture understanding and improving solidarity relationship, and international cooperation. It is also a good chance to promote Hoi An Ancient Town Heritage to the world.
