Recently, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced the program of National Tourism Year 2014, an annual event held to promote and foster tourism development in the region and localities; enhance to attract domestic and international tourists.
Accordingly, in 2014, National Tourism Year will be held in Lam Dong Province and provinces of Central Highlands including Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum. The National Tourism Year 2014 will have the name “National Tourism Year 2014 - Central Highlands – Da Lat” with the theme “Mountains and Forests of Central Highlands” and logo proposed as wild sunflower – the flower type presenting throughout 5 provinces in Central Highlands.
This is a typical cultural socio-economic event with national and international scale to introduce and promote the image and people in Da Lat – Lam Dong and also the Central Highlands to domestic and international friends.
National Tourism Year 2014 will include 45 major events, including 13 events directed by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; 10 events, 7 tours organized by Lam Dong Province such as: cultural tours “Love paradise”, “The call of mountains and forests”; sports tour “Da Lat golf”; Bidoup – Nui Ba Nation Park…
In addition, during National Tourism Year 2014 (from 27th December 2013 to 31st December 2014), many special events organized by Central Highlands’ provinces will take place such as: To Nung Lake (Bien Ho) spring festival in Pleiku City (Gia Lai Province), Bana’s rong house festival in Kon Tum Province, Buon Don elephant race in Dak Lak Province, tourism week of discovering waterfalls in Dak Nong…
Opening ceremony of National Tourism Year 2014 will be integrated with major events such as festival to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Da Lat City (1893-2013), the 5th Da Lat flower festival. Da Lat Christmas festival will conclude National Tourism Year 2014 with the festival night of wine, flower and light villa.
The goal of National Tourism Year 2014 is to focus on developing new tourism products and deploying tours, tourist routes to highlight diversified tourism products of Central Highlands and also enhance tourism development linkage between Central Highlands and other tourism regions. Thereby, the event aims to attract further investment for economic - social development of the localities in Central Highlands; and also improve awareness and behavior culture on tourism of local communities.
