The Floral Street Festival will take place from December 30, 2011 to January 2, 2012 in Hanoi city centre to celebrate New Year 2012 and the 82nd anniversary of the Vietnamese Communist Party (1930-2012).
Streets around Hoan Kiem lake including Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To and Le Thach, and the area around the Ly Thai To Monument, Ba Kieu temple and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc square will be festooned with numerous floral exhibitions featuring the cultural heritage of Thang Long – Hanoi and the lifestyle of Hanoians.
The tangible and intangible heritage of localities across the country, including ‘Quan Ho’ (love duet) singing from Bac Ninh in the north, the gong culture of the Central Highlands, and the traditional culture of Hue imperial city and Hoi An ancient city will also be reflected in the floral displays.
A flower arrangement contest, dragon dance, lantern and fireworks displays and an ‘Ao Dai’ (traditional Vietnamese long dress) show will also be held during the event.
On this occasion, the Vietnam travel company will actively organize many tours to promote Vietnam tourism.
